Vice President Joe Biden will arrive in L.A. to make remarks at the Stand Up to Cancer telethon that's airing across multiple networks at 8 p.m. Friday. Per usual, he will bring with him a motorcade of security known in L.A. for mostly one thing: causing traffic.

We know that your Friday drive is hard enough as it is (ours is too). So here are the areas to avoid this afternoon, according to LAPD:

  • 3:45 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. — Pershing Drive between Westchester Parkway and Imperial Highway
  • 4:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m. — Imperial Highway between Vista Del Mar and California Street
  • 4:45 p.m. to 5 p.m. — 105 East Freeway between California Street and South Broadway
  • 5 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. — 110 Freeway between West 117th Street and West 1st Street
  • 5:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. — 3rd Street between Huntley Drive Street and South Hope Street
  • 5 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. — South Figueroa Street between West 5th Street and West Temple Street
  • 5:15 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. — 1st Street between South Beaudry Avenue and South Olive Street
  • 5:30 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. — Hope Street between West Temple Street and West 3rd Street
  • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. — South Figueroa Street and West 5th Street, South Hope Street between 2nd Street and 5th Street, Grand Street between 3rd Street and 7th Street, Grand Street between Olive Street and Figueroa Street and the 110 Freeway between West 1st Street and West 117th Street
