Update 5:35 p.m.: Voluntary evacuations for homes, RV park
Fire officials said Sunday that they're asking homes near the Baker Fire burning east of Santa Ana to evacuate, though those evacuations are voluntary. About six households and an RV park were alerted by the Orange County sheriffs department that the fire could pose a danger to them.
"The sheriff's department has done an excellent job of going door to door and making sure all those residents know," said Orange County fire spokesman Steve Concialdi.
An evacuation center has been set up at El Modena High School. Blackstar Canyon Road is closed to traffic in the area.
Approximately 350 firefighters are fighting the fire's spread. Crews have been able to hold the spread of the fire to the immediate area around the mulch and topsoil distributor where it began.

"The vegetation fire's out," Concialdi said. "It's still going in the mulch piles."
Still, he said he expects fire crews to be out all night long in order to try to get a handle on the blaze.
"It's a dynamic situation that requires constant monitoring," Concialdi said.
1:51 p.m.: Crews trying to hold growth to under 100 acres in Santa Ana mountains
A fast-moving brush fire burning east of Santa Ana has burned 30 acres Sunday. About 125 firefighters are working to contain the blaze, according to Orange County fire officials.
O.C. fire spokesman Steve Concialdi told KPCC the fire broke out at the site of Aguinaga Green Co., a mulch and topsoil distributor based in the Santa Ana Mountains.
"We're trying to keep it to under 100 acres," Concialdi said.

Aircraft were on their way to assist in fighting the fire, according to a tweet sent from Orange County Fire. One building was damaged, Concialdi said. No evacuations were expected.
One firefighter injured his ankle fighting the fire and was transported to a local hospital. He's expected to recover, Concialdi said.
