Photo/audio tour of California’s San Quentin lethal injection facility
The federal judge who halted executions in California five years ago says he wants to decide “as soon as possible” whether they’ll resume.
Judge Jeremy Fogel’s decision will depend on whether he’s satisfied with what he saw during a tour this week of the renovated death chamber at San Quentin prison.
KPCC's Julie Small went on the tour earlier this week; you can watch an audio slideshow with audio from the tour and photos of the death chamber shot last year, as well as listen to an audio montage of highlights from the tour.
Audio: KPCC’s Julie Small was allowed to record the hour-long hearing. We’ll share of few minutes of it with you now. San Quentin’s public information officer Samuel Robinson answers the judge’s questions.
The judge gave KPCC’s Julie Small permission to record the on-site hearing.
