After heat wave, SoCal could see rain and thunderstorms
Thunderstorms and rain could be coming to parts of Southern California Wednesday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.
"We expect the main activity to be over the mountains," says David Sweet with the National Weather Service. "We're starting to see our first cell pop up on radar — it's in the eastern extreme of the San Gabriel Mountains. There could also be a few showers in the coastal and valley areas as well."

Scattered showers could continue into Thursday morning. Sweet advises people living near the site of the Colby Fire — the area near Los Angeles National Forest, near Glendora — to be on the lookout for flowing mud.
