Congress has cut federal funding for public media — a $3.4 million loss for LAist. We count on readers like you to protect our nonprofit newsroom. Become a monthly member and sustain local journalism.

Line dance, eat a sushi burrito, then go to six different L.A. museums for free. The weekend awaits.

From “Buffy” to “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” the weekend will encompass all things Whedon and “Whedon adjacent.” The convention will have  panels — including a table-read of Whedon’s unproduced “Wonder Woman” script — a stunt demonstration and a cosplay contest. The event will raise money for two anti-bullying organizations via Fandom Charities. The entire weekend will set you back $60 but Friday tickets start at $20.
