A 5.8 magnitude earthquake struck Panama on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.
The quake hit at 4:13 p.m. about 33 miles south of the city of Pedregal, Panama at a depth of 17.3 miles, the USGS reported.
Wednesday’s temblor comes a day after an 8.2 magnitude earthquake shook just off Chile’s northern coast, killing six people and setting off a tsunami that forced an evacuation of coastal areas.
