Churros and Zoolbia For Hanukkah? Yes (And Other Headlines)

It’s that time of the week — Food Friday! This week, we’ll be talking about multicultural fried dough treats,
Wait, what is Food Friday? Every Friday, we'll give you ideas on what to eat, where to go and what to cook — plus the people and stories behind the dishes.
Hanukkah (which began Thursday night) is a Jewish festival that celebrates religious freedom, and the small amount of oil that miraculously kept the Temple’s eternal flame alight for eight days.
Sweet treat Hanukkah
To mark that moment, each year in the dark of winter, Jews light candles and eat foods fried in oil. There are latkes, bimuelos, fritelle di chanuka … but for some Angelenos, their deep-fried food of choice is … churros.

It's tiiiiiiime for the weekend

In the wise words of our holiday queen Mariah Carey, “It’s tiiiiimmmmmeee!” The holidays are getting closer and closer, and I have found myself listening to more Christmas music and watching Vlogmas videos on YouTube. So it’s only fitting that I also start getting into a cheery, festive spirit, and what better way to do that than going to an event? Here are my picks for some holiday-inspired events. - Santa's Circus, Hollywood: Watch Cirque-style acrobatics infused with holiday joy in a 90-minute spectacular from Cirque Factory. Families can enjoy acrobatic feats, dance, gymnastics, illusions, comedy and surprises.
