Topline:

Applications for Ventura County’s Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher Program open on Tuesday, Jan/ 30 until Feb. 13. The program is aimed at very low income households.

How it works: Instead of on a first come, first serve basis, applicants will be placed on a waitlist via a random lottery. Officials say resources are limited and only 3,000 applications will be selected via the lottery.

Eligibility: The current income limit to be eligible for Section 8 federal funding is an annual income of $46,500 for a single person or $66,400 for a family of four or $82,350 for a family of seven. To check the income limit for your family size, click here.

How to apply: Please visit onlineportal.ahacv.org.

Those requiring additional assistance or disability accommodations can call the office at (805) 480-6010 or email wl.info@ahacv.org. And for those with a hearing impairment, please call using TTY (805) 480-9119.

The application requires an email address and applicants should have the name, DOB and Social Security number for each member of their household ready plus the annual household income amount.
