Here Are The Hottest, Coldest And Rainiest Christmases In Los Angeles History

You know the scene. You've probably watched it in many a holiday movie.

It's Christmas morning. The protagonist wakes up, stretches, and then looks out the window. It snowed overnight, and sparkling white flakes blanket the grass, trees and houses as far as the eye can see. It's beautiful.

But who are we kidding? In Los Angeles, such a magical morning is a fantasy, unless you're up in the mountains. This year's weather is ... not that, and it likely won't break any records for being the rainiest or coldest or anything-est, either.

Still, in search of weather that makes us feel literally anything, we decided to take a look at Christmases past. Here are the records for the warmest, coldest and rainiest December 25th's in L.A. history, according to the National Weather Service.

THE WARMEST CHRISTMAS ON RECORD: 83 DEGREES (1980)

• Warmest: 94 degrees, on Dec. 3, 1958
• Coldest: 32 degrees, on Dec, 21, 1968
• Rainiest: 4.53 inches, on Dec. 28, 2004
