New online tool tracks LADWP progress on restoring safe drinking water post-Palisades Fire

A person's hand is holding a glass cup, with a blue rim, up to a sink faucet. A tiny stream of water is coming out of the faucet and into the cup.
Water slowly drips from a faucet.

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

Topline:

The L.A. Department of Water and Power has launched an interactive online dashboard to help residents in areas covered by a "Do Not Drink" notice from the Palisades Fire keep track of where the restoration process stands.

Why it matters: LADWP water customers can put in their address in the Water Quality Restoration tool to find which the water service zone they're in, whether they're affected by the "Do Not Drink" notice and what stage their zone is in within the overall restoration process. Users can also access any available water quality testing data in their zone.

Where to find it: You can access the dashboard here.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.
