Where You Can Find Pliny the Younger on Tap (While It Lasts)
This year die-hard fans of Pliny the Younger camped out in soggy conditions in front of the Santa Rosa brewery—just so they could get the first taste of the limited edition triple IPA. So when can Angelenos get a taste of this year's batch from Russian River Brewing Co.?
There will be two places in town offering a taste until it runs out, according to Taste Terminal. The Surly Goat in West Hollywood will have enough Pliny the Younger on tap to service 215 8-ounce pours starting on Tuesday, February 21, at 6pm. (Other brews from the Santa Rosa brewery will be on tap as well.) Verdugo Bar in Glassell Park will also be serving up Pliny the Younger for the evening on Monday, February 20.
What's all the hype about? Here's a review on beer advocate:
Hard to believe this is an IPA. Little-to-no bitterness, a touch of citrusy sweetness but not the kind of sweetness that can come with other high alcohol beer. Finishes sooo clean and leaves no hint of alcohol on the tongue. The hop resin and pine aroma comes through but blends in perfectly.
