Tomorrow is Father's Day, so it's time to hang out with dads (either your real one or a generic father figure). But wait, what's that? You haven't made any official plans to eat anywhere, and your father doesn't believe manning the grill is the best use of his day of celebration?

That's where we come in. A lot of places are all booked up for the holiday, but here are some of the best places to eat in Los Angeles that still have space available for a group of four for dinner around 7 p.m. tomorrow:

Love & Salt is a delicious Italian restaurant in Manhattan Beach. Their brunch is superb, but their dinner is equally enticing: beautiful pastas, wood-oven pizzas, and vegetables galore. Plus, their famous homemade english muffins are available at dinner as well, so you won't miss out on the fluffy, underrated dish. It's right near the strand, so sandwich your meal with a great walk along the water. Perfect for the laid-back, California dad.

Birch is one of the only spots in Hollywood proper with good food, so if your dad is hoping to do movie night at Arclight, then a dinner at Birch is the way to go. Besides fresh, seasonal appetizers, their pastas, seafood, and main courses are all hefty, meat-oriented dishes. The place is about as close to British food as you can get in L.A., while still being "New American." Perfect for a dad who gawks at the word "foodie" but could get behind an elevated version of steak and potatoes.

Birch is located at 1634 N Cahuenga Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90028. Make reservations here.

Otium is for the hard-core, food-loving dads of the bunch. This is for the dad who probably knows about restaurant openings before you do, and would rather spend his afternoon at the MOCA Geffen (The Broad is too mainstream for him). Lucky for you, they still have plenty of space left on Father's Day for dinner, so grab a reservation while you can and eat incredible seafood with one of the most beautiful downtown restaurants as your backdrop.

Otium is located at 222 Hope Street, Los Angeles, CA 90012. Make reservations here.

Even though the OG chefs of Church & State have long gone, the place still holds it down as a veritable French institution in the Arts District. Its old age (in L.A. terms, at least) means it's not quite as hip, which all but guarantees the chance for you and your dad to slide in for a dinner reservation. The warm weather means the beautiful patio will be an incomparably pleasant experience, and if your dad starts feeling a little too fancy after dinner there's always one of the many breweries around where he can be at peace.

Church & State is located at 1850 Industrial Street, Los Angeles, CA 90021. Make reservations here.
