Wake Up LA: Andy's Coffee Shop

If I had know about Andy's Coffee shop during my days at Pasadena City College, just two blocks down, I would've ditched biology in the morning at least a couple more times. Hiding on a stretch where the store facades all look the same, I almost wish Andy's had a 50 foot high coffee mug sitting on the restaurant, steam rising from the top.
I'm not sure about the wallpaper or the 50s diner idea, but there are large windows bringing in natural light, so its a pretty pleasant place to sit with a coffee in the morning. Throw in the good food and you can totally overlook their need for some change in design.

The menu looked like a classic breakfast joint, so we went with basics and ordered omelets. I usually like Tobasco on my omelet but opted to go with their homemade salsa and was impressed, so ask for salsa.
Its worth noting that besides hitting the spot with the food, Andy can also set the scene for a romantic breakfast on Thursday- check out that mug!

In Pasadena, Pie 'n Burger & Lucky Boy would both be better choices for breakfast, but we definitely shouldn't forget Andy's like its facade asks us to. Especially all you PCC students who wouldn't mind walking a block or so west for 15% (student discount!) off the most important meal.
