Video: Roy Choi Driving Through Watts At The Wheel Of The New LocoL Truck

In late July, L.A. food impresario Roy Choi announced that his "revolutionary fast food" chain LocoL would soon be getting its own food truck, and now it seems that day is here.
LocoL, which opened its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Watts this January, focuses of bringing affordable and healthy fast food to underserved neighborhoods. Adding a food truck to the burgeoning chain (an Oakland outpost also opened this year, plans for further restaurants are in the works) is a return to his roots for Choi, who first found fame through his wildly popular Kogi BBQ truck.
The truck officially opened for business Tuesday afternoon in Culver City. According to LocoL's website, they'll be spreading the bounty across the city, with plans to be open for lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday in locations around Los Angeles. So far, the lucky locales include Culver City (Tuesday), Santa Monica (Wednesday), West L.A. (Thursday), El Segundo (Friday), and Pasadena (Saturday). See the maps below for full deets:

Branimir Kvartuc, Communications Director for Councilman Joe Buscaino, happened to spot the truck on a test drive through Watts last week. Buscaino, whose district includes Watts, has praised Choi for his work in the community in the past. Kvartuc, a former news photographer, started shooting video on his phone as he passed by, and guess who was at the wheel? None other than Roy Choi himself:
Here's some pics from the truck's first day out on the town:
And here's Buscaino at the restaurant's soft opening earlier this year:
LocoL is located at 1950 E 103rd St. in Watts. Check their website for more information, including the schedule and location of their trucks.
