Uber Trucks Delivering Ice Cream To L.A. Today!
Why go out for ice cream when Uber will deliver it to you? The on-demand ice cream service is for today only and demand will be extremely high, the company warns.
The service is happening in Los Angeles and 33 other cities today only, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
First, you've got to download the Uber app for iPhone or Android, request the "Ice Cream" option and "if a truck is available, you and your friends will be enjoying sweet treats and Uber swag within minutes," the company promises.
"Demand for ice cream trucks will be very high and availability very limited. It may take multiple tries to find an available truck. Please be patient! We'll be working all day to deliver as much ice cream as possible," they cautioned eager ice cream fans.
Sadly, the ice cream is not free, but no cash is required since it will be charged directly to your Uber account. A six-pack of Carvel ice cream, the L.A.-area special, will cost you $36.
The ice cream delivery was so popular when they first did this last year, they couldn't meet demand, which is likely to happen again this year.
