A regular of Tom Bergins Tavern who lived in the neighborhood went ahead and bought the pub that closed over the summer.

The most recent owner Warren Ebbink sold the Fairfax pub to a man named Derrick (no last name given—very mysterious),
according to Eater LA. He's described as a longtime regular who hopes to preserve the original charm.

Tom Bergins was renovated and its menu overhauled under the most recent owners, but they closed this summer after slumping sales. The new guy hopes to combine some of the better qualities of the old Tom Bergins and with its last incarnation. He plans on bringing one of the owners of Tom Bergins from back in the day as a consultant.

We wish the new owners luck, and hope they manage to pour a decent Guinness and, of course, nail that Irish Coffee.
