Stumptown Coffee Roasters Brewing Up Plans for L.A. Spot

For lovers of Portland's Stumptown Coffee Roasters, this tidbit will be a nice wake-me-up: The business is planning to open a roasting facility in Los Angeles. When? According to Eater LA, who got the confirmation from Stumptown's Travis Hale and Evan Dohrmann, they're looking at "either late this year or early 2013."
No location yet--they're looking, but no deal has been made.
Eater LA also followed up on the will they-won't they of Stumptown having a cafe at the Ace Hotel coming to Downtown, but the answer is about as encouraging as decaf Folgers crystals:
Hale/Dohrmann revealed that originally the restaurant going into the property was designed in a way that didn't leave much room for a coffee bar, however Stumptown is still discussing this possibility with the hotel. So, Stumptown at the Ace is currently up in the air.
