République Is Opening Its Own Homemade Ice Cream Shop

The Manzkes have their hands pretty full right now. The husband and wife team just opened their Filipino "corner store" concept Sari Sari Store at Grand Central Market, and continue to run their flagship République. Now, the Manzkes have announced that they are opening an ice cream concept—called Crèmerie—out of the Coffee and… window at République.
The housemade ice cream shop will start scooping Friday, with hours stated as noon to 10 p.m. daily. There will be 12 rotating flavors that may change frequently, but the opening menu is as follows:
Chocolate
Hazelnut
Pistachio
Gianduja (a chocolate and hazelnut spread similar to Nutella)
Butter pecan
Vanilla bean
Strawberry
Coconut
Banana
Chocolate chip
Coffee sorbet
Watermelon sorbet
Melon sorbet
Lime sorbet
Strawberry sorbet
The ice cream news can't come soon enough with the series of heat waves we've been getting recently. And should Crèmerie take off, we'll have something of an "haute ice cream" rivalry on our hands between the Manzkes and Nancy Silverton (who, fun fact, ran Campanile out of the same building that Republique now occupies).
Crèmerie is located at 624 South La Brea Avenue in Los Angeles. (310) 362-6115
