Pickle Shop Popping Up in DTLA This Sunday
You don't have to be Peter Piper to pick up some pickled anything this weekend, thanks to the supper club duo Chicks With Knives, who are running Perishable: A Pop-Up Pickle Shop in Downtown at Starry Kitchen on Sunday.Did you know you can pickle just about any veggie or fruit? Learn some tips and techniques via cooking demo, and sample some inspiring bites the Chicks are offering. See--and sip--pickles in cocktail action via their Pickle Barrel Martini.
The best part is that you can head home with some pickles; they'll be selling a variety of jarred organic pickles for $6 - $8 each, or pickling spice mix ($2) and pickling kits ($20) if you're ready to make some pickles of your own at home.
So why did the Chicks pick to pop-up with Pickles? "We were inspired to try something fun and new that really represented us and our food," explains one half of the team, Rachael Narins. "And who doesn't love pickles?"
