The 6th season of The Next Food Network Star doesn't hit the small screen until June 6th, but there's already reason to celebrate in Los Angeles, since three of the Food TV stars-in-the-making call our city home. The Food Network's most-watched series, TNFNS follows 12 contestants aiming to be named the next on-screen food-tastic personality. During the competition they are offered mentorship from Giada De Laurentiis, and face the tough selection committee and host Bobby Flay in the judging round. And Los Angeles gets to be a star for the first time this season, since the battle takes place right here, amid a bevy of celeb guest appearances from the worlds of food (Guy Fieri, Rachael Ray, Wolfgang Puck) and entertainment (Eva Longoria Parker, Colbie Caillat).

So who's our home team? There's Doreen Fang, Darrell "DAS" Smith, and Aarti Sequeira. That last name might ring a bell if you've been an LAist food-loving reader for a while, since she is, in fact, an LAist alum. Of course, she won't breathe a word about who becomes The Next Food Network Star to us, so we'll just have to watch and cheer her and the other LA chefs on.
