Irv's Burgers Reopens, Still On Route 66
WeHo burger lovers, rejoice! Irv's Burgers, the beloved West Hollywood hamburger stand that was forced to shut down in October, has reopened in a bigger and better location.
The new location, just five blocks away from where the original stand used to be, offers both indoor and outdoor seating, which is already a huge plus. Owner Sonia Hong, who bought the original stand in 2000 from Irv himself, told the L.A. Times, "It’s a new place for the new year. My customers are excited. I’m so happy to stay here. We were so worried."
Hong was forced to shut down the burger stand in October of last year after their landlord tried to hike up their rent while forcing them to annex a planned beach-themed cafe.
The new location is at 7998 Santa Monica Boulevard, which thankfully still rests on Route 66. Go get your burger on while getting your bag personalized, like this guy:
