Henry's Tacos Will Close At Its Current Location Today

Today is the last day for Henry's Tacos at its current location. The restaurant will be serving food until they run out or 9 pm.

"It will be a sad day, but this is it. It just didn't work out for us to stay at this location," current owner Janis Hood told Studio City Patch.

Hood was trying to work out a deal between the property owner Mehran Ebrahimpour and Matt Pyken, a prospective buyer for restaurant. Pyken worked out a 20-year lease agreement with Ebrahimpour, but the terms of the deal caused Pyken to offer $50,000 less to Hood than he originally offered.

At that point, she decided to sell he business to the restaurant's head chef Omar Vega. She explained to Patch: "If I'm going to take that much of a hit in selling the business, I figured it should at least be with someone I know and have worked with all this time."

That means Henry's Tacos will be closing in its current location and reopening somewhere new. The menu will stay the same, and the iconic sign will follow Vega to his new location.

Pyken told Patch he was baffled by Hood pulling out of the deal: "I thought we could work out something. We gave Janis everything she asked for."
