On Your Grill Mark, Get Cheesed, Go: 1st 8th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational Takes Place on Saturday
Say cheese! Saturday is the1st 8th Annual Grilled Cheese Invitational, which matches the hot, buttery wits of several cheese-loving competitors and you get to be the judge.
Your $10 pre-purchased admission ($15 at the door; expect a sellout!) gets you access to the Tillamook-sponsored event and the chance to taste samples from all the various grilled cheese makers aiming for the top prizes in a variety of categories. In order to have your say count, though, this year you'll have to pre-apply to be a judge and purchase your pass in advance.
This year they are putting the pros and the amateurs in separate categories, and though they will still "determine who is the overall Grilled Cheese Champion, [separating the groups] will allow for more trophies and for a more fair competition overall." Other fun to be had: Cheesy costume contest, poetry, beer garden, cheese calling, and the Loaf Love Tour.
