This is the kind of tasty tidbit that really takes a licking: Tuesday, May 8 is Free Cone Day at Haagen-Dazs shops! The folks at Haagen-Dazs just wanted to get ice cream lovers a feel for the hot days ahead, they told us in a release about Free Cone Day:

“May is a time when communities across the nation start to say ‘so long’ to winter woes and ‘hello’ to the sweet sound of summer,” said Dawn Uremovich, president of Häagen-Dazs Shops. “We wanted to create a fun-filled afternoon that gets people out of their houses and we couldn’t think of a better way than to entice them with a free scoop of ice cream.”

It's pretty simple: Show up at any of the four participating Los Angeles-area Haagen-Dazs shops between 4 and 8 p.m. Tuesday, and score your free cone. Eat, enjoy, and try not to drip too much.

The four shops are located at The Grove, Beverly Center, Glendale Galleria, and Media City Center (Burbank).
