New Exec Chef @Downtown’s Urbano Pizza Bar
Chef Bruce Kalman comes from Santa Monica’s The Misfit, where he was a regular at the Santa Monica Farmers Market. He brings these connections to Urbano’s new market driven pizza menu. Vegan and gluten free selections are available, as well as Pizza Happy Hour during the week from 3 to 7, with half off pizzas and $4 draft beer. [Previously]

Leap Day Beer Class & Tasting Menu with The Bruery @Comme Ça
Comme Ça and The Bruery will be offering beer classes and a special pairing menu on leap day (February 29). The class is $35 per person, the special 5-course menu is $65 ($75 with beer) and class plus menu is $90.

Brunch Now Offered @Maximiliano
Highland Park's Maximiliano is now offering weekend brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., with an eclectic variety of dishes including crab cakes, breakfast pizza and quinoa salad.

Bill to Tail Muscovy Duck Dinner @Locanda Del Lago
This Thursday (Feb 23) at 7, Lago’s monthly 5 course, one-animal-specific meal will feature Muscovy duck. Reservations are required and can be made by calling (310) 451-3525. Not enough notice? No worries: Future specials include Virginia sea bass on March 29 and Capon chicken on April 26. Cost is $54 per person, or $70 with unlimited wine.

New Executive Chef @Mohawk Bend
Chef Mike Garber is introducing new flavors and monthly brewer dinners to Mohawk Bend, the popular Echo Park restaurant and bar. There is a new emphasis on beer pairings, and new dishes such as buffalo-style cauliflower and Avo & Chips are already popular. Mohawk Bend is open daily for lunch and dinner, and for brunch on the weekends.

The Party for Chicagoans (in Entertainment) in Los Angeles: "Windy City West"
The Annual get-ogether for transplanted Chicagoans working in Entertainment in L.A., Windy City West, will honor Cubs Chairman Tom Ricketts. The event is organized by Santa Monica Restaurants M Street Kitchen and Stella Rossa Pizza Bar and will take place March 5.

"Recess" Time: New Happy Hour Menu @PS612
Affordable food and drink specials are on tap from 4-7 daily at DTLA's Public School 612, plus all day on Sunday.
