A German Restaurant May Be Taking Over Cat & Fiddle's Spot

We may finally know the tenant that will take over Cat & Fiddle's former Hollywood spot: San Francisco's Biergarten. The ABC license indicates Biergarten LLC will be taking over the spot, Eater LA reports. This Biergarten is not to be confused with the German-Korean fusion joint on Western Avenue in Koreatown. This German restaurant hails from San Francisco. Their menu seems to indicate lots of German beers, pretzels, bratwurst and burgers.

Long-time Hollywood staple Cat & Fiddle announced last year that they were being pushed out of their spot on Sunset Blvd. for a new tenant who had agreed to pay the landlord three times as much in rent. Cat & Fiddle complained that the next tenant would probably be a soulless chain, and some rumors swirled that it would be an Applebee's. (LAist reached out to Applebee's to inquire and they said they had no plans for Hollywood any time soon.)
