Los Angeles suffers from a pretty chronic case of Burgermania, and the hype gets fueled by news of an impending new contender for the city's favorite beefy bite between two buns. Last week a groundbreaking ceremony--and inaugural burger cookout--was held on the site, which is in the old DuPar's Bakery space.

It's been a while since we sampled the Short Order Ida's burger at the Taste of the Farmers' Market, though we did spot the Short Order gals handing out burgers to a long line of enthusiasts at the Taste of the Nation this past Sunday. Can't wait until those delicious burgers are cooking for real at 3rd and Fairfax!
