Anyway You Slice It: Today is National Pie Day

Our June member drive is live: protect this resource!
Right now, we need your help during our short June member drive to keep the local news you read here every day going. This has been a challenging year, but with your help, we can get one step closer to closing our budget gap. Today, put a dollar value on the trustworthy reporting you rely on all year long. We can't hold those in power accountable and uplift voices from the community without your partnership.

It's curious that such a day would fall not when we're gorging on Thanksgiving and Christmastime treats, or at the height of berry season in the summer, but today happens to be National Pie Day. So if you need an excuse to find yourself a big ol' slice of something delicious bedded down in some flaky crust, today you've got it. (Does Chicken Pot Pie Count?)

We like to bake pie, hang out with people who really like to bake pie, scope pie contests, and, of course, eat pie here at LAist. But since technology hasn't yet figured out how we can pass you a bite through your monitor, some pie porn will have to suffice. Now, go out and get yours. And tell us where you think the best pie in L.A. can be found.
