There's nothing fancy about Nat's Early Bite at first look. It's another hole in a the wall, tucked in a small strip mall off Hazeltine on Burbank Ave. Look closer, especially on a weekend, and you'll see a line out the door. And that's the first good sign.

Inside, it's busy and loud with families and friends. The decoration is a mix of old signed celebrity headshots, local baseball team photos and kid drawings. On the menu, it's your standard breakfast fare--eggs, omelettes, hot cakes, meats, waffles, juice, biscuits and gravy, etc--along with a few unexpecteds and rarer rinds like soyrizo and grits. A simple place, for sure, but a great one to get your morning grub on.

They don't have a website, so here's the info: 14115 Burbank Blvd., Van Nuys | 818.781.3040 | Mon: 6am-3pm; Tue-Fri:6am-8pm; Sat: 6:30am-4pm; Sun: 7:30am-4pm
