Truth matters. Community matters. Your support makes both possible. LAist is one of the few places where news remains independent and free from political and corporate influence. Stand up for truth and for LAist. Make your year-end tax-deductible gift now.

Sprinkles' snack food revolution starts today, when their highly-touted 24-hour-access "automat" goes into service Tuesday morning. "Starting today at 10am, customers will be able to purchase freshly baked cupcakes from 24-Hour Sprinkles!" a Sprinkles rep tells us.

The vending machine, nicknamed the "Cupcake ATM," is located outside their flagship Beverly Hills cupcake shop.

The machine will stock rotating flavors and be refreshed daily; popular flavors, like Red Velvet, will always be included. The machine holds 600 cupcakes, and cupcakes cost $4 each.

On Facebook, Sprinkles has been tempting cupcake lovers by asking them where else they'd like to see a 24-Hour cupcake automat installed. The machines are already headed to New York this summer.

Go get 'em, cupcake lovers! And if you snap a picture, send it our way!

UPDATE 11:50 AM

The Huffington Post went to Beverly Hills this morning to make a purchase from the cupcake ATM and they made a video showing how the machine works.
