Heading out to the West Hollywood Halloween Carnaval tonight? You'll be joined by about 499,999 other people making the trek to WeHo, so plan to carpool, cab or hoof it, or take the city's free shuttle.

The city is offering a free "FrankenRide" shuttle that will stop at all Metro bus stops along Santa Monica Boulevard between Plummer Park and La Cienega Boulevard. There are also several public lots but they'll be charging $20 per car.

This year's theme is Noir Night, with a Noir City stage on Santa Monica Boulevard and San Vicente Boulevard emceed by Jeffrey Damnit. There's also a "Speakeasy Stage" and a "Pulp Friction Stage." For more info, see the WeHo site.

Queen Latifah is, appropriately enough, this year's Queen of the Carnaval.

The following streets will be temporarily closed for the Carnaval:

  • San Vicente Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 a.m., Thursday, October 31 through 7 a.m., Friday, November 1
  • Santa Monica Boulevard between Doheny Drive and La Cienega Boulevard including all side streets from 12 p.m. Thursday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Friday, November 1
  • Robertson Boulevard between Melrose Avenue and Santa Monica Boulevard from 12 p.m., Thursday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Friday, November 1
  • Almont Drive and La Peer Drive are closed from Santa Monica Boulevard to Melrose Avenue from 12 p.m., Thursday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Friday, November 1, 2013.

  • La Cienega Boulevard between Sunset Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard from 4 p.m., Thursday, October 31 through 6 a.m., Friday, November 1. ***Northbound La Cienega Boulevard is open between Holloway Drive and Sunset Boulevard.
