Quentin Tarantino finally got to make that blaxploitation Western about "America's horrible past with slavery and stuff." Below, watch the rollicking trailer for Django Unchained, starring Jamie Foxx as the titular character, Christoph Waltz as a bounty hunter, Leonardo DiCaprio as a sadistic plantation owner, and Don Johnson as Colonel Sanders. It looks great—but what David Bowie song will soundtrack the key scene?

The plot: Foxx is freed by Waltz to serve as his partner tracking down the murderous Brittle Brothers. In exchange, he'll help Foxx find his imprisoned wife, and he'll set him free. You can read a fuller synopsis here. MTV points out some of the finer points of the trailer here. Of course, if Django is anything like Tarantino's last genre film, Inglourious Basterds, it won't be anywhere near as straight forward a plot as the trailer makes it out to be. Remember when everyone thought Basterds was going to be all about Brad Pitt's Nazi-scalping group? And instead it turned out to be about rewriting history and murdering Hitler with cinema?
