Last night at the American Music Awards, Miley Cyrus showed the world that she totally "gets" the Internet by integrating a cat into her performance of "Wrecking Ball." Or maybe this was simply an homage to the more recent Internet Kitten who was turned into a wrecking ball for that Vine? Or maybe Miley just took a bunch of Molly and scribbled down a list of ideas and went with it: "black-eyed kitten, lasers, ill-fitting underoos with cat heads on it, seriously the kitten MUST have dead black eyes that's the only way this will work, more lasers, fake tears for both self and kitten."
And with that, the embodiment of manufactured controversy didn't offend anyone last night, there was no room after Katy Perry's performance. But she did keep celebrating her 21st birthday:
