Video: Amy Adams Gives A 'Wicked' Karaoke Performance At A Local Gay Bar

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

Let it be known from this day forward: Amy Adams is the new Queen of Karaoke.

The American Hustle star was filmed belting out a tune from the hit Broadway musical "Wicked" at a gay bar here in L.A.

Adams chose "Defying Gravity" to sing to the crowd, which is anotoriously difficult song to master. Based solely on the video and the crowd's reaction, Adams nailed it. Instinct Magazine claims that the bar in question is Oil Can Harry's in Studio City.

And then, a few days after her epic karaoke turn, Adams picked up the Golden Globe for Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy. Pretty good week for her, I'd say.

One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.

You come to LAist because you want independent reporting and trustworthy local information. Our nonprofit newsroom doesn’t answer to shareholders looking to turn a profit.
