Last night we went to the premiere of the second season of Louis C.K.'s "Louis" which starts running on FX on Thursday, June 23rd, at 10:30pm. FX screened 2 episodes from the upcoming season to a full house at Caroline's comedy club in New York City where a lot of footage for the show is shot. This new season is unbelievably good and will be a must-watch every Thursday night. From the first scene of the first episode you know that Louis C.K. is going to be breaking new ground and not looking back. Since we don't spoil here, we just insist that you watch the show. We will have red carpet interviews from last night for you soon but in the meantime review our on-location interview with Louis C.K. and our previous one from March.
Tonight you'd better hope that you have an envelope from Netflix waiting for you or a full DVR because there's nothing on until 10pm tonight but the real good stuff doesn't start until late night with "Chelsea Lately" and "Childrens Hospital" as the highlights for the night.
In between the footage of riots in Vancouver did you catch last night's excellent "Men of a Certain Age"? Be sure to check out our Channel Zero podcast with series co-creator Mike Royce as well as KCRW's "The Business" which also features Mike.
Dave Chappelle is denying a return to television which on the one hand is a tragedy, but on the other hand is a good thing because the rumor was that he was planning to return via Hulu or Netflix which would not be up to the level we would expect for such a massive talent.
Was anyone at the 2011 UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television (TFT) Commencement Ceremony last week? We heard "Law & Order: SVU" star Mariska Hargitay was there to be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award for Theater. If you were there let us know?
