TV Junkie: Great Late Night TV; 'COPS' Lives on into 24th Season

Does this environment look familiar to you? It's horrifically familiar to us. Adam Devine, Blake Anderson, and Anders Holm star in Comedy Central's "Workaholics" (10:30pm tonight)

Be sure to check out our interview with Anders Holm of Comedy Central's "Workaholics" which was posted here earlier today. "Workaholics" airs at 10:30pm tonight.
There's been some great late night TV lately like Zach Galifianakis on "Conan" Monday, Martin Short on "The Late Show With David Letterman" last night and it continues tonight with a great lineup on "Chelsea Lately" with special guest Maya Rudolph who has been very funny on "SNL" and Jimmy Fallon's show in recent weeks and the roundtable is composed of Josh Wolf, whom we interviewed for LAist a couple months ago and who announced a book deal on Twitter yesterday, comedian Mo Mandel who I saw at the NBC upfronts on Monday for his new show "Free Agents," and Ross Matthews who we talked to at the Golden Globes and who has got to be in line to get some kind of show deal.
While Fox has cancelled "America's Most Wanted" we still have "COPS" which will return for a 24th season. I'd been hoping for "COPS" to merge with "America's Funniest Home Videos" and/or "Tosh.0" as they seem to have very similar content. I remember when cities used to vie for the opportunity to have the show visit them which would seem to be at odds with how city residents are portrayed - mostly miscreant morons. After 24 seasons shouldn't every municipality in the country have been covered by this point? I guess America can't get enough.
One of the casualties in last week's cancellation blood bath was "$#*! My Dad Says" but series creator Justin Halpern had a great telephone exchange with his fatherwhich he recounts here.
I've got nothing to say about Oprah's final broadcast TV show but you can read about it here. It's a historic event, understandably, but it's not a show that I've ever watched - I get all I need to know about daytime talk shows from "The Soup" on E!.
