Weekend EditionThis weekend marks the last big push of premieres for the Fall season with half a dozen tonight and another 14 on Sunday. One premiere of note tonight is Tom Selleck's "Blue Bloods" (CBS @ 10pm) with Donnie Wahlberg, Jennifer Butler, Len Cariou, Will Estes, and more - set on the premise of a cop dynasty in New York City. It's great to see Selleck as a regular again and there is a pretty good dynamic between the characters from what we saw in the pilot but its Friday placement makes us think that CBS isn't serious about it so we're wary about investing our time and heart in it. We weren't "wowed" but this show wasn't nearly as disappointing as most of the other new dramas that have aired this Fall. It could turn into a really good show but will it be there in November?

We were also dismayed to see Fox move "The Good Guys" to Fridays. This fun and smart show deserves to be given more legs - after all, what other dramas does Fox have going for it: "House", "Fringe"....

We'll be watching the season premiere of "Saturday Night Live" with host Amy Poehler right after indulging in Syfy's ridiculous Sharktopus - a genetically engineered 1/2 shark, 1/2 octopus goes on a killing spree.
As you've probably noticed we're particularly excited about Sunday's premiere of "Bored To Death" (HBO @ 10pm) but just go check out how jammed Sundays are again: "Rubicon", "Dexter", "Boardwalk Empire", "Mad Men", "Bored To Death", and "Eastbound & Down". We're forced to go with the "Dexter" season premiere which picks up with the aftermath of the murder of Dexter's wife, Rita. It will be fun to go from that gripping suspense and seriousness to the levity and romanticism of "Bored To Death".
Congratulations to Moofeet who won the season 5 "Dexter" poster from yesterday's contest!!
The TV Junkie Plan: Tonight - Bill Maher, "The Good Guys", "The Soup", "Fashion Police", Kimmel (Primus!), Ferguson (Jason Schwartzman). Saturday - Sharktopus, "Saturday Night Live" (Amy Poehler, Katy Perry). Sunday - "Nature", "Dexter", "Bored To Death", "Eastbound & Down".
