'The Price is Right' Chooses Its First Hunky Male Model

One year ago, Congress defunded public media. Now that we're 100% community funded, please become a sustaining member or increase your existing membership today.

Rob Wilson, come on down! The 24-year-old actor Boston native has been selected as the first ever male model to appear on the beloved TV game show "The Price is Right."

Wilson was among the many manly models who showed up to a casting call for the contest.

How did Wilson win everyone over?

"I used my East Coast hip-hop background to freestyle for 30 seconds and they liked it. It kind of felt a little weird - a little goofy - but it got the job done," he told People about how he tackled the audition task of coming up with lyrics to "The Price is Right" theme song.

Wilson will appear alongside the regular show models (once upon a time known as Barker's Beauties in the era of Bob Barker) to pose with blenders, RV's, and Rice-a-Roni for a one-week stint starting October 15, though if he proves popular, the gig could last longer.

You can see rappin' Rob at 5:30 in this audition webisode:
