The 85th Annual Academy Awards: A Complete List of The Nominations

Before the tuxedo and gown sporting celebs can unseal the envelopes at the 85th Annual Academy Awards ceremony next month, the nominees must be revealed. Actress Emma Stone and this year's novice Oscars show host Seth MacFarlane were on hand to do the honors bright and early Thursday morning.

MacFarlane and Stone hammed it up in the wee hours in a nominations announcement event that was unexpectedly lighthearted (and even included Hitler and drunk jokes). The nominations went largely as many pundits and film critics expected, though there were some omissions, notably in the directing category where three highly-touted names were left out, like Ben Affleck for "Argo," Kathryn Bigelow for "Zero Dark Thirty," and Quentin Tarantino for "Django Unchained."

Making a great showing was "Beasts of the Southern Wild," as well as the Austrian film "Amour," along with, as expected, "Lincoln," "Les Miserables," and "Silver Linings Playbook." Even nabbing a nomination was MacFarlane himself, for his contribution to the original song "Everybody Needs a Best Friend" from the movie "Ted."

Here are the nominees as announced this morning, followed by the rest of the categories and nominees as released by the Academy:
