Take Yourself on a Tour of Sustainable Gardens Today in Mar Vista
There's an 82-year-old woman named June who lives in Mar Vista who realized life was too short for her to be paying a gardener to tend her landscaping and the costly water bills. So instead she re-did her yard using sustainable techniques, halved her water bill, and is one of the 80 home gardens on view today as part of the Mar Vista Green Garden Showcase. Use the map to create your own self-guided tour of the homes; read up on each one here. The tour is open from 2-6 this afternoon.
While at the homes, interact with experts and homeowners and learn tips and techniques for sustainable gardening. Best of all: It's free! [Check out June's garden video]
