Says Tom Cruise: Give Me That Old Time 'Rock Of Ages' Roll
Tom Cruise is set to star in the film version of the musical hit Rock of Ages that began its Los Angeles run at the Pantages Theater last week.
Rock of Ages is a heartwarming, eye-lining, hair-spraying, tight pants-wearing, arena-rock love story about a small town girl and a big city boy who find each other on the Sunset Strip in 1987, all told through a mega setlist of 70s & 80s rock hits from Journey, Foreigner, Bon Jovi, Night Ranger, Poison, Whitesnake, Styx, and lines and lines more.
Says NME, "Cruise will play ageing musician Stacee Jaxx in the film. Director Adam Shankman - who helmed the hit screen musical of Hairspray in 2007 - believes the star will excel in the role." Shankman reportedly told the Toronto Sun, "I think we're going to see him every drop the rock'n'roll god. He's pouring himself in this part in a way I've never had an actor do," reports NME. Cruise would perform several songs including Renegade by Styx and Bon Jovi's Wanted Dead Or Alive.
