Photos: The Colorful, Sexy, Cartoon Costumes Of The Beyond Wonderland Music Festival
Revelers flocked to the Inland Empire over the weekend and donned their most colorful, creative, and nostalgia-fueled costumes for the Beyond Wonderland music festival. The name of the two-day EDM festival is already suggestive of Lewis Carroll, and some festival goers ran wild with the theme. Others tapped into other Disney movies and cartoons, video games, and TV shows of their youth to dress up for the event. This year's spectacle featured a curated lineup each day, with Friday night featuring trance and and Saturday night with the thumping sounds of drum 'n bass and dubstep.
Last year's festival was met with tragedy when a 22-year-old college student died of an ecstasy overdose. This year, authorities cracked down harder to prevent another tragedy. The Press-Enterprise reports that 244 were arrested by the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department. Another 20 were hospitalized, and an official told the P-E that all have been treated and released.
Raves and music festivals have been coming under more intense scrutiny over the past year. L.A. County officials are also looking to crack down on raves after two women died at Pomona's HARD Music Festival in August. In June, a man died at Las Vegas' EDC.
