Lucha VaVoom brought its Mexican wrestling and burlesque show back for a special Cinco de Mayo celebration at The Mayan in downtown L.A. Thursday night. Hosted by Tom Kenny (voice of Spongebob Squarepants) and co-hosted by Baline Capatch, the night featured singer/performance artist Silverio, lucha libre stars Rey Escorpion, Laredo Kid, Rey Horus, and Magno, as well as dancers, aerial performers, musicians, and the L.A. Roller Girls. The event was a veritable carnival where celebrities and fans mixed together in costume and celebration. Some attendees combined lucha costumes with Star Wars costumes in a nod to the ubiquitous "May the 4th be with you" annual pun, and celebrities like Seth Green, Nathan Fillion, and Jeff Ross enjoyed the spectacle from ring-side seats, with Green eagerly high five-ing various wrestlers.

The event continues Friday night, with Drew Carey as host, as well as Saturday night in Riverside for a 15th anniversary show.

Friday's show is sold out, but tickets for the Cinco de Mayo Spectacular on Saturday, May 6 are available here. Saturday's event will be at the Riverside Municipal Auditorium, located at 3485 Mission Inn Avenue, Riverside.
