The annual Anime Expo took place July 2-4 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. Inside the venue, thousands of pass-holders could immerse themselves in the enthralling worlds of their beloved manga and anime. But outside, amidst the skyscrapers and concrete of Downtown, the costumed attendees were almost like their own attraction, and some of our LAist Featured Photos pool contributors were there to capture the colorful fun.
One year ago, Congress voted to defund public media, eliminating a critical $1.7 million from our budget every year going forward. But they couldn’t silence us, and we’re not going anywhere. LAist is now 100% community funded and that means we’re taking our future into our own hands and turning to you to keep local reporting strong.
