Pets of the Week: Timmy, Waldo, and Luke
Timmy is an adorable 2 1/2-year-old white and tan Shih Tzu with big beautiful eyes and a soft coat. Waldo is a commanding and gorgeous 3-4 year old black and tan Lhasa Tzu who will bond to you like super-glue. Why these young men haven't been adopted yet is anyone's guess, but their rescue, Lhasa Happy Homes believes it may be because they are very bonded to each other. So Timmy and Waldo must be adopted together.
Timmy is fearless and likes big dogs, little dogs, big people, and older kids. His favorite thing to do is to play with all the toys and people and dogs that he meets. He loves to explore and is curious about everything. He is a great combination of energy and calm; loves to play and loves to cuddle!
Waldo will great you with a hearty "Hello!" but he settles nicely. He can be independent and you'll wonder where he went, but call his name and he comes to attention! He loves affection, having his belly rubbed, and really needs to feel secure in his environment. He's a really good boy and just needs to know that someone loves him. He is very attached to Timmy and very protective of him around other dogs. Waldo would love a home that would help him with his obedience training. Most of all, Timmy and Waldo would like a family that will give them lots and lots of unconditional love!
More information and an application for adoption is available online at the Lhasa Happy Homes website or come by and meet their adoptable dogs at their adoption events every Sunday.
Luke is a shy, loving fellow with gorgeous grey Siamese/Siberian looks and big blue eyes. He was surrendered because his family had to move. Having gone from a home to a rescue hasn't made him a happy cat, and he longs for a new home with lots of TLC. He is rather quiet at first, but once he gets to know you he's very affectionate. He would do well as a single pet in an adult home. If you like eye-catching kitties who offer calm and loyal companionship, then Luke may be your soulmate.
Luke is about 8 years old, house-trained, healthy, neutered, Felv/FIV negative and up to date on routine shots.
Luke is available for adoption from Friends of Animals Foundation, a non-profit, no-kill rescue and adoption group based in in West Los Angeles. If you would like to visit Friends of Animals Foundation
please call to reserve an appointment (310) 479-5089. Appointments are available 7 days a week.Other Friends of Animals Foundation kitties featured on LAist include Juliet (adopted) and Bobbyand Sergeant Pepper who are both still looking for a loving home.
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
