Pets of the Week: Shadow, Clyde & His Buddy Bonnie

Handsome, athletic and eager to please, Shadow is waiting at the Pet Adoption Fund in Canoga Park for a new family. This Husky/Shepherd mix is a big, sweet teddy bear of a dog. Age 3 to 4, he has one blue and one brown eye, alert ears, a goofy smile and fluffy tail. Even though his looks get attention and he walks great on leash, Shadow is still waiting for that special someone. Please give him a chance! Shadow is house-trained, neutered, very loyal and needs an experienced adopter. He should be in an adult home as the only pet and with someone familiar with larger dogs. Around 85-plus pounds, he can reach 6 feet tall to offer a happy greeting or give hugs/kisses.

Clyde needs his Bonnie
Clyde the cat is an orange and white Tabby with a very unique tail that curves forward. He is 12 years old, nice with everyone, and loves his best buddy Bonnie, a 10-year-old female Calico. They are a bonded pair and would make great company for an older person. Both are gentle, enjoy petting, and will melt your heart. They are fixed, up-to-date with shots, and ready to go to a good home today. Please consider this pair; they are double the love!Pet Adoption Fund is the largest non-profit, no-kill animal rescue organization in Southern California. They are staffed primarily by volunteers, and exist solely on donations. Their mission is to rescue, shelter, and find loving permanent homes for the many wonderful, yet previously abandoned, neglected or abused companion animals. Their facility houses around 175 dogs and 75 cats, of all sizes, ages and breeds. As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
