Pets of the Week: Pippi, Fifi & Samson
Pippi and Fifi are a pair of 11-year-old sisters looking for a home together. Fifi loves to make friends. She'll roll over and flip on her back for belly rubs. She's a mellow girl who loves to nap, but has her active moments when she runs back and forth in a sudden burst of activity. Her meows are infectious: she loves to express herself.
Pippi is youthful, energetic, and very smart, resembling a cat half her age. Feisty and aware, Pippi has a wide range of emotions she's not afraid to express. With so many facets to her personality, she's an endless source of fascination to behold. She is very loyal, affectionate and lovable to her human companion.
Pippi and Fifi have lived together their whole lives. Due to unfortunate circumstances, they find themselves urgently looking for a new home by the end of the month. If you are interested in meeting Pippi and Fifi, contact Director of Adoptions & Rescue Gabriela Garcia at Voice For The Animals Foundation. VFTA specializes in re-homing animals whose owners can no longer keep them, like Pippi and Fifi. Email adoption@vftafoundation.org or call (310) 392-5153.
Big Samson looking for a new friend with a big heart! Photo by CageFree K9 Rescue
My name is Samson and I'm a 3-year-old neutered male French Mastiff/American Bulldog mix. I'm a big handsome boy, weighing in at over 90 pounds. I have so much love to give and I'm super friendly. I am great with people and I enjoy playing with other large-breed dogs. I am housebroken and I love car rides. I would do best in a home without young children, cats or small dogs. I would definitely prefer a house with a yard so I can run around and stretch my legs! See me in action in this little video I made. If you think you could provide me with the loving home I deserve, please contact CageFree K9 Rescue, a dog rescue organization located in Los Angeles dedicated to finding great homes for dogs in need, like me!
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
