Pets of the Week: Zeus & Bandit

Zeus is a purebred, 6-year-old Dogue de Bordeaux, also known as a French Mastiff. He was hit by a car and his previous owners were unable to pay for his treatment. He suffered fractures in one leg and hip which required orthpedic surgery. Luckily for Zeus, Pups and Pals stepped in and got him the medical care he needed. He had a 6-hour surgery back in July, has fully recovered and is doing great! Now, he just needs a home.
Zeus is a sweet, lovable giant. French Mastiffs are a very special breed and he is no exception. Zeus is looking for a companion that has experience with large dogs. He is great in the car and pretty easy to walk, despite being such a big boy. Zeus would like to go on frequent walks to help him rebuild his muscles. He is good with other big non-agressive dogs. Zeus is neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped, seems to be housebroken, and is crate trained. This is one gorgeous loveable boy! Pups and Pals loves him and they know you will, too.

Bandit, doing kitten things. Photo by Pups and Pals
Bandit is a male, short-haired, 7-month-old Tabby kitty. He and his siblings were bottle-fed since they were 2-3 weeks old and are very loving. Bandit is very easy going and shows no fear when introduced to dogs. He would do well in a home with other cats or dogs as he is very loving and enjoys the company of other animals. He loves to play and makes a toy out of everything. He is curious, affectionate and playful; everything you would want in a kitten! Bandit is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, FiV/Felv tested, and ready to go to a good home.
If you are interested in meeting Zeus or Bandit, visit the Pups and Pals website for an application and adoption procedures, or visit their other adoptable pets at the Pups and Pals mobile adoption at the Long Beach PetSmart, March 24th from 10am-2pm. Pups and Pals is a group of dedicated volunteers in Los Angeles and Orange County that foster and care for pets in need until they can find permanent, loving homes.
As Editor-in-Chief of our newsroom, I’m extremely proud of the work our top-notch journalists are doing here at LAist. We’re doing more hard-hitting watchdog journalism than ever before — powerful reporting on the economy, elections, climate and the homelessness crisis that is making a difference in your lives. At the same time, it’s never been more difficult to maintain a paywall-free, independent news source that informs, inspires, and engages everyone.
Simply put, we cannot do this essential work without your help. Federal funding for public media has been clawed back by Congress and that means LAist has lost $3.4 million in federal funding over the next two years. So we’re asking for your help. LAist has been there for you and we’re asking you to be here for us.
We rely on donations from readers like you to stay independent, which keeps our nonprofit newsroom strong and accountable to you.
No matter where you stand on the political spectrum, press freedom is at the core of keeping our nation free and fair. And as the landscape of free press changes, LAist will remain a voice you know and trust, but the amount of reader support we receive will help determine how strong of a newsroom we are going forward to cover the important news from our community.
Please take action today to support your trusted source for local news with a donation that makes sense for your budget.
Thank you for your generous support and believing in independent news.
