Blogger Perez Hilton has been hit with a libel suit by the jeweler who designed the engagement ring Brad Pitt gave to Angie .The Beverly Hills jeweler Robert Procop filed a suit in court today saying that in a post Hilton wrongly accused him of committing fraud in connection with the sale of a 1985 diamond necklace, according to City News Service. The jeweler to the stars is asking for more than $500,000 in damages because of the harm suffered to his reputation.

"As a world-renowned jewelry designer and jeweler, (Procop's) reputation for honesty is of critical importance to his business," the suit says, according to CNS.

The suit says that Perez refused to correct or take down the offending post but it looks like the lawsuit might have done the trick. The only post about Robert Procop that we could find on Perez said nothing about the 1985 diamond necklace.

Hilton hasn't commented—or blogged—on the matter.
