DANCE*
The monthly Anatomy Riot, an evening of dance and works-in-progress, goes old school for the April edition. Presented in partnership with the Blankenship Ballet at the Alexandria Hotel and co-curated by Ilaan Egeland Mazzini and Lionel Popkin, the evening will feature choreographers over 40. Works by David Hurwith, Ilaan Egeland Mazzini, Lionel Popkin, Oguri, Rosanna Gamson, Susan Rose and Wendy Rogers. At the Alexandria Hotel at 8 pm, Tickets: $10.

BEACH CULTURE
The Annenberg Beach House presents the program Noir Afloat: A Reading with Author Ernest Marquez tonight from 6:30-8 pm. Marquez tells a colorful, yet true, history of Santa Monica Bay history with floating gambling halls, mobsters, murder and mayhem at the three-mile limit off the coast of early 20th century Santa Monica. Free.

MYSTERY WOMEN
Writers Bloc presents an evening with Girl Detectives: Jacqueline Winspear and Cara Black with David Kipen tonight at 7:30 pm. Winspear’s best known for her crime solving protagonist Maise Dobbs and Black’s known for her Aimee LeDuc character. At the MGM Building in Century City. Tickets: $20. Reservations being taken at

CABARET HOUR
There’s a cabaret benefit show tonight at the Catalina Jazz Club to benefit Japan tonight at 8 pm. Performers from Broadway, television, music and cabaret will come together to entertain and help raise money for the devastated country. Performers include Jm J Bullock, Bill Burr, Daisy Eagan and The Sklar Brothers (Comedy Central). Tickets: $30 (plus a two-drink minimum).
